💥 New 12 weeks session starts on May 9, 2023 💥
🗓 WHEN: May 9 - July 25, 2023
⏰️ TIME: 5.15- 6.30 pm
📍WHERE: @thedancecentrebc
Marcuse studio, Level 7
💃WHAT: 1 hour 15min samba class focusing on learning choreography, including improvisation & performance posing, partner work in the choreo. The classes always include work on samba technique & foundation, choreo class is also great for improving cardio & stamina. Moderate to high intensity class full of energy & new skills learnt. Great for improving students & those with "I live to challenge myself" attitude dancers.
We wear high heels for this class to be ready for stage, but this is not a requirement.
What's required is your attendance of one of the training sessions - Samba Intro or Samba Drills.

Vancouver Samba School (VSS) is founded by Yulia Terekh, a true passionate dancer and performer of Latin and Afro-Brazilian cultural dances, and a dedicated capoeira martial artist. It’s through Axé Capoeira she fell in love with Brazilian Samba in 2011. Since then, Yulia has performed in various Latin and Afro-Brazilian shows in Canada and internationally, she attended workshops and classes of the world renowned dancers and professionals from Brazil, Europe, Latin and North America, Russia & performed in various venues as well as paraded multiple times in Afro-Brazilian Carnivals in Vancouver. Yulia continues to expand her knowledge and skills in dance and cultural aspects of samba in order to pass it down to her students and all interested. VSS is founded to further promote Brazilian culture and the beauty of Brazilian samba dance in Vancouver. VSS offers beginner and intermediate lessons for public, as well as grants performance and international trips opportunities to Samba Congresses and Samba Carnival in Rio de Janeiro for all students.
