Awana Medium Hanging Loom or backstrap looms, demonstrate the complexity and the simplicity of traditional weaving.

Each awana is composed of unfinished narrow textile

the remaining unwoven threads, knotted at one end,

and the small bundle of yarn used to weave the textile.

Two sets of threads are highlighted by three flat shed sticks that separate them in alternating fashion.

These products were hand-woven in the community of Amaru using 100% natural and organic local sheep wool, and dyed using natural plants and other pigments.

El telar mediano para colgar Awana o los telares de cintura, demuestran la complejidad y la simplicidad del tejido tradicional.

Cada awana se compone de un tejido estrecho sin terminar, los hilos no tejidos restantes, anudados en un extremo,

y el pequeño haz de hilo utilizado para tejer el textil.

Los dos conjuntos de hilos están resaltados por tres palos planos que los separan de manera alterna.

Estos productos fueron tejidos a mano en la comunidad de Amaru con lana de oveja local 100% natural y orgánica, y teñidos con plantas naturales y otros pigmentos.

Todos nuestros productos se comercializan de manera justa, lo que significa que las tejedoras indígenas que fabrican estos productos reciben un precio justo por su trabajo y experiencia.
